The Languedoc

The Languedoc is an ideal holiday area. On average it enjoys around 3000 sun hours per year, with very agreeable temperatures due to the Mediterranean climate. This results in warm summers and mild winters. For the beach lover there are the wide sandy beaches of St. Pierre la Mer, Narbonne Plage and Gruissan (all can easily be reached within 30 minutes by car) and you can swim in the Mediterranean until late autumn due to the warming effect of the long hot summers. A trip across the border into Spain is also a possibility; you can find further information in the Excursions section.

Altogether this makes the Languedoc-Roussillon a splendid region for one and all, you can find just about everything; picturesque villages, culture, mountains, sun, sea and sand. Spring  and autumn are the best periods for walkers in this region.

Golf in the sun all year round

Imagine the prospect of golfing in the sun, 300 days a year, on one of the 27 golf courses in Languedoc-Roussillon. The courses lie in a magnificent scenic region and are open throughout the year and benefit from the mild climate the whole year through. Languedoc-Roussillon gives golfers the chance to play in every season on the highest quality courses, suitable for players at every level. Some courses along the coast are reminiscent one of those found in Florida. Others, in the mountains of Lozère and the Pyrenees, resemble the traditional courses of Scotland. The large variety of courses makes Languedoc-Roussillon the perfect destination for passionate golfers. There is a special Golf-Pass with which it is possible to play on 15 different courses over a period of 21 days. Check out the golf site.
